What Is Dual Credit?
Dual credit is a process through which a student may earn high school credit for successfully completing a college course that provides advanced academic instruction beyond, or in greater depth than, the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) for a corresponding high school course. Why Take Dual Credit Courses?
The American Institutes for Research found that high school graduates who participated in dual credit outperformed students who did not. Measures of performance included grades in both dual credit and college credit only courses, college remediation, enrollment, persistence and completion. Who Can Take Dual Credit Courses?
A high school student is eligible to enroll in no more than two academic dual credit courses per semester if the student demonstrates college readiness by achieving the minimum passing standards on relevant section(s) of the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) exam:

What Is the TSI Exam?
The TSI exam is a requirement for students who want to enroll in dual credit courses while in high school and who do not meet an exemption.
High school students may register with the college counselor at their respective high schools to take the TSI exam.

What Dual Credit Courses Are Offered at Judson ISD?
Under the core subjects of English, Math, Social Studies, Science, Fine Arts, Psychology and Speech, the following college courses may* be offered at our comprehensive high schools:
