Spotlights on Veterans Memorial HS

Traveling into San Antonio, most families know that we are Military City USA. Judson ISD is privileged to have a high school dedicated to the service of men and women in all military branches where the faculty, students, staff, and available programs allow every member of the Patriot Family to earn everything every day.

Since the campus opened in 2016, Veterans Memorial High School has been a bright spot in Northeast San Antonio, and it continues to grow and excel. VMHS offers cyber security, cosmetology, and law enforcement programs that make it unique, along with its newly opened Maker Lab for its Project-Based Learning initiative.

On October 21st VMHS celebrated another milestone with its addition to the AlamoPROMISE program, where students have the opportunity to earn an Associate’s degree or other certification with tuition and required fees covered. A pep rally was held in the auditorium for all seniors where the school band, choir, dance team, cheer squad, ROTC, and other supporters were present to celebrate.

“In four years as principal at VMHS, I continue to be amazed at how advanced our students are. The CTE offerings within JISD allow our students to do things in high school that was previously only possible out in the industry. Seeing students get excited at the opportunity to earn industry certifications and create meaningful projects is a highlight of my day.”
