Athletics host 2nd Annual Operation Dog Tags

Operation Dog Tags was back for its second year to honor veterans in our community. On November 1, Judson ISD Athletics hosted the Meet and Greet Dinner. The Judson Rockets football team had the opportunity to meet, learn from, and share a meal with the veterans. Players were paired with a veteran and will wear that veteran's name on their jersey during the Operation Dog Tag football game.

“We are proud to honor our veterans while also providing a meaningful and memorable experience for our athletes,” Triva Corrales, Executive Director of Athletics, said.

The 2nd Annual Operation Dog Tags Football Game kicked off on Thursday night with the Rockets facing the New Braunfels Unicorns. Before the game, veterans who participated in Operation Dog Tags, and all veterans in attendance, were honored for their service. The first 500 people who entered D. W. Rutledge Stadium received a commemorative dog tag. The all-veterans parachute team jumped onto the field to present the colors.

Next year, Judson ISD will continue this tradition, with Veterans Memorial High School hosting the next event in 2024. Thank you Judson ISD Athletics for your dedication to honoring our #JudsonISDFamily veterans!
