It’s the happiest day of the year! The Judson Education Foundation visited 17 campuses and awarded over $48,000 in innovative teacher grants.
The grants fund a wide variety of innovative learning opportunities, enriching students’ academic and social-emotional experiences at school. From astronomy and yoga to broadcast news and drama, JEF grants are giving teachers the tools to engage students in new ways.
The Judson Education Foundation works year-round raising money for grants and scholarships.
“We are so grateful for our donors who make today possible. They are truly making a difference in learning for JISD students,” said JEF Executive Director Lexie Greathouse.
JEF Board members and JISD Superintendent Dr. Fields joined in the excitement as grants were awarded.
“I’m thankful for the Judson Education Foundation and all they do to promote innovative instruction across the district,” Fields said.
JEF was joined by PNC Bank and representatives from the Valero Alamo Bowl to award four additional grants totaling $1000. Teachers awarded these grants were also given tickets to the Valero Alamo Bowl for themselves and their families.
The celebration was made more festive with the addition of our students from the Veterans Memorial Drumline, HS cheerleaders, JHS and VMHS ROTC, and VMHS football.
