Judson ISD and United Way partner to raise over $88,000

Each year, JISD and United Way partner to raise funds for hundreds of charities in Bexar County, many of which directly benefit families in Judson ISD. This year, the staff raised over $88,000, crushing the goal of $77,000.

The United Way supports programs that prepare young children for life, help students succeed, foster self-sufficiency for individuals and families, and support people in crisis. 

The Judson Education Foundation is one of the local non-profit organizations that the United Way supports. This year, $10,000 will go to JEF to provide student scholarships and innovative teacher grants.

JISD and JEF celebrated the leadership of the campus campaign champions and the generosity of their campuses and departments at the annual JISD United Way Awards.

Judson High School was recognized for the highest overall contribution. Wagner High School was awarded a $500 JEF grant for having the highest contribution to the Foundation. Woodlake Hills Middle School won the highest increase in contributions compared to last year and JCARE won the highest per capita award.

The following campuses had 100 percent of their staff giving to the 2023 campaign: Candlewood ES, Converse ES, Coronado Village ES, Crestview ES, Escondido ES, Fine Arts Academy at Olympia, JCARE, JSTEM Academy, Metzger MS, Woodlake ES, and Woodlake Hills MS. All of these campuses were entered into a drawing for a $500 JEF grant and Metzger MS was the lucky winner!
