Wagner Sophomore Places In National STEM Event

Joseph Wilson, a sophomore at Wagner High School, competed in the Blacks in Government National STEM Competition in Dallas, Texas recently, winning 2nd Place and $600.  Joseph competed at the local and regional levels, winning 1st Place and cash prizes each time before advancing to the Nationals. 

High School competitors from around the country were tasked with creating an animation using coding that educated students on the "Opportunities in Coding & Programming."  Contestants were judged on their projects, coding, and oral presentations to a mass audience.

Joseph used the Processing programming language that he learned in the TSTEM program at Wagner High School.  Joseph desires to major in Computer Science in college and become a computer programmer.  Congratulations...we wish him well.
