JISD CTE Program Gets Rolling With Converse Donation
The relationship between Judson ISD and the City of Converse continues to grow stronger. Recently during a Converse City Council meeting, the city's police department decided to donate a decommissioned squad car that still runs well, but probably shouldn't be put through the typical demands of an everyday patrol on the streets. Even so, it is still very useful for lighter use duty like the Judson High School's Criminal Justice program...part of the school's Career and Technology Education pathway. Students will not be driving it, but the vehicle will give them the feel and even some of the tools that real law enforcement officers use on a daily basis.
A big thank you to Converse Police Chief Fidel Villegas, Mayor Al Suarez, and the Converse City Council. City Manager Le Ann Piatt presented the car keys to the Judson Teacher and Sponsor for the program Jesus Acosta and Criminal Justice Teacher Suzanne Soto. Congratulations!
