There such a wealth of knowledge within Judson ISD and it's great to know that so many teachers are willing to share their experience and knowledge with others. Derrick Landry is a teacher at JECA who had the opportunity to talk with an instruction class within the UTSA masters program. He shared his experiences with culturally relevant ways of building relationships and knowing how to connect with students no matter what their background. Teachers may not share the same culture as their students, but awareness is the key. Mr. Landry is a UTSA alumnus so it was exciting for him to go back and share a little bit of his 22 years experience in a district like Judson ISD that is one of the most diverse districts around anywhere.
