Woodlake Hills Wildcats Partner With "Toys4Tots"

Woodlake Hills MS Military Connected Students at SAMMC

The Woodlake Hills Middle School Honorary Military Squad participated in the community service project “Toys4Tots” with the patients and staff at San Antonio Military Medical Center. These military-connected students in grades 6-8 are enrolled at Woodlake Hills Middle School. They provided toys to children at the SAMMC inpatient Pediatric Unit. The holiday season is a great time of the year to show support and care to our family members of the United States military. Most of us will spend the holidays at home surrounded by the ones we love, but there are others who have children spending their holidays hospitalized. Participation in this project was a great way to give back to deserving military families by putting smiles on the faces of the patients, siblings and their parents. Many hearts were warmed by their presence. This project was supported and coordinated by parents, SAMMC In-Patient Pediatrics Coordinator, Susan Saldivar, campus principal, Mr. Daniels Brooks, Tamika James, campus Social Worker and Sylvia Greenwood, JISD Military Family & College Readiness Specialist.
