New Curbside Meal Procedure 5-7-2020

 new curbside meal procedure

Judson ISD continues to work to meet the nutritional needs of students during the COVID-19 school closures. Grab-and-go breakfasts and lunches are available at no charge to students age 18 and under and to students who continue to be enrolled in school past the age of 18 but under the age of 21, and who are identified as disabled through a special education program.

New Process:  Beginning Monday, May 11th, there will be a change in the meal pickup process.  Students do not have to be present to pick up meals, but a parent or guardian must show one of the following documents.  Acceptable documents are:  a student report card per child, a student ID per child, attendance record from parent portal of school website, official letter/email from school listing children enrolled, or birth certificate per child. The child does not have to be a Judson ISD student.  If the student is present at meal pickup, no identification is necessary.

There will still be one pickup time.  Both breakfast and lunch will be provided between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.  Curbside meal packages “to go” can be picked up on Monday through Friday.  Meals can be picked up from one of the following sites:  Crestview ES, Olympia ES, Candlewood ES, Hopkins ES, Rolling Meadows ES, Metzger MS, Woodlake Hills MS, Wagner HS, Judson HS, Hartman ES, and Park Village (bus).  Due to COVID-19 precautions, families are advised to stay in their cars during pick up.  Families that walk to the campus will also be served “to go” meals.

Food Safety Tip:  Remember to immediately refrigerate perishable food items such as milk, yogurt, cheese, deli sandwiches, etc.  Keep cold foods cold and hot foods hot.  For additional food safety tips, visit:  https://www.fsis.usda.gov/wps/portal/fsis/topics/food-safety-education/get-answers/food-safety-fact-sheets/safe-food-handling/basics-for-handling-food-safely/ct_index
