Olympia ES Teacher Dorothy Cardenas Wins Trinity Prize!

Dorothy Cardenas

Judson ISD's Dorothy Cardenas has won the coveted Trinity Prize for Excellence In Teaching! There were seventeen finalists from across the San Antonio and Bexar County area named as finalists and Olympia Elementary School teacher Dorothy Cardenas was one of two overall winners. She is a Dyslexia Therapist at Olympia, but works with all kinds of students.

The Trinity Prize selection guidelines describe their selection of the finalists and the overall winners as based on outstanding classroom performance, leadership in the school and school district, leadership in the education profession, and outstanding community service. Trinity University has honored the teaching profession and recognized outstanding educators through the Department of Education since 1982 and is sponsored by Whataburger.

The selection was announced on an online zoom ceremony on Friday, May 8, 2020.  We are so proud of Ms. Cardenas of the work she is doing. She is also a top JISD Distinguished Educator for 2020. We are honored to work with her.
