Judson PD Act of Kindness turns into a Beacon for Hope
This week Melissa Wicker said she had the privilege to witness the true meaning of Christmas within our Judson ISD family. Seeing the quick reaction from so many to help a family in need has shown her that there is still good in the world and hope during these trying times.
She reached out to the Judson Police Department knowing that one of our families with four children ages 5 and under being raised by a great grandparent was in need of assistance. In under 72 hours, Lieutenant Adolfo Hernandez and his team personally visited with Ms. Wicker, went to the children's home to meet with their guardian, assessed the need, procured two booster seats, and installed the booster seats and two car seats in the guardian's vehicle. On top of all that, the entire Judson Police Department chose to adopt this entire family of six for Christmas. In Lt. Hernandez's words, "We will make sure they have an amazing Christmas!".
"We always hear about organizations doing wonderful things for people in our community. However, to see it happen first hand, and so quickly, is incredible. They truly went above and beyond their call of duty!" - Melissa Wicker, Rolling Meadows Elementary - Pre-K 3
