Black History Month
Black history recognition comes in all sorts of ways of spotlighting the contributions of African Americans to our society and Judson ISD campuses showcase those contributions in a number of those ways. As recent as June 2020 our JISD school board adopted a resolution on social justice whereas because of this resolution all three comprehensive high schools are offering an African American Studies course. A committee adopted a textbook earlier in the year to support the teachers which align with the TEKS for the course. The textbook chosen by the committee was The African American Odyssey, from Pearson publishers. Students and teachers are excited about this course and we look forward to continuing to provide it for our JISD students.
Judson ISD honors and respects the culture black history offers. We continue to celebrate the entire month in many different ways.
