Coronado Village gets special Teacher Red Carpet Rollout Event

The Green Carpet Company/The Flooring Connection and MAARs Pizza & More visited Coronado Village Elementary for a very special Teacher Red Carpet Rollout Event.

Jeff Lavender, owner of Green Carpet Company/The Flooring Connection, has always had a deep appreciation for teachers. Having five children, he recognized the important role they played in their lives. He has two daughters who later went on to become teachers and he saw firsthand how hard they worked for their students.

In the last few years, the company has given away over $25,000 in free rugs to teachers for their classrooms. They have provided gifts and treats during Teacher Appreciation Week and even put on a surprise burger cook-off for the entire campus!

This year, they are traveling to school districts across San Antonio and surprising campuses with a “Red Carpet Rollout” event to honor teachers and award one special teacher from each campus for all they do for their community.

Coronado Village Elementary received a nomination asking to recognize first-grade teacher, Ms. Emily Rodriguez. She was nominated by a parent as an outstanding teacher.

“She goes above and beyond. For example, when our daughter was having separation anxiety about going back to school after a year of virtual learning, Ms. Rodriguez would go to school early and have a private dance party by her jeep to help her feel special and ease her worries. Her first-grade class also showed the highest amount of growth out of the entire district last semester. She is deserving of this red-carpet treatment, and so much more,” said The Brewer family.

A collection of videos of staff and students praising Ms. Rodriguez was played. She was joined by the Brewer Family, her husband, and the staff at Coronado Village Elementary.

Six more teachers were selected to win a free rug for their classroom and walk the red carpet!

Thank you to The Green Carpet Company/The Flooring Connection and MAARs Pizza & More!
