Welcome three new district leaders

Our very own, Karen Olert, has been named the new Executive Director of Accounting! Ms. Olert brings many years of experience having worked in the world of finance for over 20 years. She has directed all aspects of billing operations for major corporations and has gained much knowledge in leading diverse groups of people. She has served in the public school setting for the past 8 years, most recently she held the position of accountant here at Judson ISD. Ms. Olert has grown professionally in the financial areas of public schools and ensuring the fiscal requirements comply with all polices and laws that govern financial operations. We are excited to welcome Karen Olert to this new leadership role! She has already been working hard in her new position and we are confident she will continue to lead the department and district with knowledge and grace.

Jesus Hernandez III has been named the Director of Safety and Security, a position recently approved by the Board of Trustees. In this new role, Mr. Hernandez will be responsible for the strategic direction and leadership for the overall administration and coordination of the Judson ISD safety and security program. Mr. Hernandez has dedicated over 22 years to public education in various roles from teacher to principal, and most recently Director of Pupil Services for the District. Having served the Judson ISD community for many years, being a resident of the community, his experiences working directly with students and staff, and his advocacy for student safety will bring a unique perspective as he leads efforts to ensure safe and secure educational environments for our stakeholders.

Meet Cynthia Sanchez, our new Director of Child Nutrition. Ms. Sanchez has chosen to serve public school students since 2004 and is passionate in educating children and adults about nutrition, healthy eating habits and the importance of physical activity. Ms. Sanchez currently serves as Sharyland ISD's Director of Child Nutrition Services where she oversees the operations of the department, leads and develops campus child nutrition staff, and ensures students receive healthy meals, even during the pandemic. We are excited that she has chosen to join the Judson ISD family and know her expertise and leadership will serve her well in this role. Ms. Sanchez will begin her journey with Judson ISD in the beginning of October.
