Judson Education Foundation raises a record $98,000 at annual Gala

It was a night of shimmer, sparkle and record-breaking generosity at the 2023 Judson Education Foundation (JEF) annual Casino Royale Gala.

Through sponsorships, live and silent auctions, and some fun casino games, the Foundation raised a record $98,000.

“I am so grateful to our sponsors and attendees for their generous donations. These funds allow us to advance the mission of JEF, which is to support JISD teachers and students,” JEF Executive Director Lexie Greathouse said.

The work of the JEF Board and district volunteers were instrumental in the event's success.

“The success of this year’s gala is due to the dedication, support and guidance of the JEF Board and the hard work of our volunteers and staff members who make the vision come to life," Greathouse said.

The night also included honoring Judson ISD Hall of Honor Athletic and Civic inductees Charles Ford, Julie Harris and Mary Helen Massey-Williams. In Harris’ acceptance remarks, she reminded attendees of the importance of giving back to our community and our schools.

“I am a testimony to what an event like this can do when you sow into a school and community,” Harris said, as she encouraged the crowd to get out their checkbooks to make a difference in a student’s life.

After the Hall of Honor inductions, the celebration began in earnest with lively casino action, great music and even some outstanding dance moves!

“It was an incredible night of celebration and giving. I am grateful for a community and sponsors who believe in the difference that JEF makes in our school community. The impact they have made will be felt for years to come in the lives of our students,” Dr. Rob Fields, JISD Interim Superintendent, said.
