ASIS International San Antonio Chapter has announced Judson ISD Police Department, Officer Michael Grelle as Officer of the Year 2023. Officer Grelle was selected out of 6 small agencies across Bexar County.
On December 15, 2022, Officer Grelle saved a JISD parent's life. Not only was the parent in distress, but the parent was also ID as a veteran seeking assistance from the VA Hospital and was informed that the next appointment would not be available until January 23, 2023. Officer Grelle’s mental health training immediately kicked in. The parent was emergency detained and transported to a nearby hospital for assistance. Through hard work and diligence, Officer Grelle saved a life.
