It was a full-on Fiesta as JISD welcomed approximately 3,000 attendees to its Viva Judson Block Party. The annual event serves as a opportunity for families to engage with their schools and access important community resources ahead of the new academic year.

This year, more than 75 community vendors and partners participated, offering a wide range of supplies, services, and information to support students and families.

“We are grateful for our community partners who joined us to provide not only supplies but information about things like healthcare, housing, academic support and everything else. All of those things play a role in student success,” Superintendent Dr. Milton Fields said.

Families were treated to free hot dogs while they visited community partners and connected with their schools.

“It’s one of the few events where the entire district comes together and is the perfect example of ‘One Home. One Family, with our community celebrating the new school year,” Fields said.

Judson ISD extends its sincere appreciation to all community partners for their continued support and to the families who attended. The #JISDFamily is ready to begin a new and successful year!
