Fiesta Dancers at Convocation

Judson ISD kicked off the 2025–2026 school year with a district-wide convocation that brought staff together for a morning of celebration. The event embraced a Fiesta theme, filling the stadium with bright colors, upbeat music, and a strong sense of community.

The morning began with a lively performance by the Judson High School Mariachi, setting the tone for a morning full of energy. Staff then enjoyed a delicious Fiesta-inspired breakfast prepared by the Child Nutrition team.

School spirit was on full display as campuses cheered and showed off their pride with Hartman Elementary School earning the spirit stick.

The event also featured special performances by Hartman Elementary Folklorico and St. Monica’s Folklorico, who brought culture and tradition to the event with dances that filled the stage with vibrant color.

Adding to the excitement, JISD alumnus Sebastian De la Cruz spoke about how his time in Judson ISD shaped his life and inspired his love of music, which has become his career. He then sang beautifully for the appreciative crowd, leaving a lasting impression on everyone in attendance.

The motto for this year’s convocation was “Viva Judson” and superintendent Dr. Milton Fields addressed its significance, “Viva Judson! It’s more than just a celebration. It’s a declaration. Viva Judson means long live the heart of who we are - our spirit, our people, and our belief in the power of public education.”
