The Judson Independent School District (JISD) Growth and Planning Committee met on Monday, November 17, to review key data that will inform future decisions regarding district facilities. The committee consists of two representatives from each JISD campus.

During the meeting, members reviewed a demographic report prepared by Zonda Demographics. The report included local economic conditions, housing availability and affordability, employment trends, current and projected enrollment figures, and campus utilization percentages. It also highlighted statewide enrollment data, noting a decline across most Texas independent school districts.

In addition, the committee reviewed a facilities assessment report prepared by RVK and Corgan. The two firms conducted comprehensive inspections of all JISD campuses. Their report outlined and prioritized the improvements needed over the next five years and included estimated costs for each project.

The committee is tasked with making recommendations to the JISD Board of Trustees regarding potential school consolidations. Before the holiday break, the group will hold a workshop to establish criteria for these decisions.

Community members interested in serving on the Growth and Planning Committee are encouraged to contact their campus principal for more information.
