Judson ISD is proud to celebrate the recipients of the Paraprofessional to Teacher Scholarship Program. This program reflects our belief in growing educators from within and supporting those who dedicate themselves daily to our students.
In partnership with the Judson Education Foundation and the Judson ISD Human Resources Department, scholarship recipients and their principals were invited to what they believed was a special focus group with Dr. Destiny Barrera, Director of Talent Management. Instead, they experienced a moment many will never forget.
Lexie Greathouse, Director of Communications and the Judson Education Foundation, along with JEF board members, surprised the group by announcing that 10 exceptional paraprofessionals had each been awarded a one thousand dollar scholarship to support their journey toward teacher certification. The announcement was met with powerful emotion as several recipients were visibly moved to tears, reflecting the significance of the moment and what the support meant to them personally and professionally.
Paraprofessionals play a critical role in our schools, often serving as steady sources of support for both students and teachers. Each of these scholarship recipients also balance full workdays with college coursework and family responsibilities, making this support especially meaningful.
Thank you to JEF for investing in these individuals as they take the next step toward becoming certified teachers. Congratulations to our scholarship recipients.Your dedication to education is making a difference already, and we can’t wait to see the difference you make in your own classroom.
