Judson ISD’s annual Operation Dog Tags program once again brought students and veterans together for a memorable experience centered on service, sacrifice, and appreciation.
The event began with a special Meet and Greet Dinner on Wednesday, September 16, where members of the Judson Rockets Football team spent time with veterans from the Judson ISD community. Over dinner, players and veterans shared stories, experiences, and conversations, getting to know one another and learning from each other's experiences.
Each player was paired with a veteran and proudly wore a jersey bearing that veteran’s name during the Operation Dog Tags football game on Friday, September 18, at D.W. Rutledge Stadium. The tribute served as a visible reminder of the sacrifices made by those who have served our nation.
Prior to kickoff, participating veterans, along with other veterans in attendance, were recognized and honored for their service. In a memorable pregame ceremony, an all-veteran parachute team descended onto the field carrying the colors, creating a powerful moment of patriotism and appreciation.
The evening ended with a big win for the Rockets, adding to an already meaningful night for players, veterans, families, and fans.
Through Operation Dog Tags, the Judson ISD Athletics Department continues to create opportunities for students to learn from local veterans while honoring their service. The program serves as a reminder of the values of respect, gratitude, and community that bring Judson ISD together.
