We are unable to unlock our back entrance gate this morning. We will open both sides of our exit gates to ease the flow of traffic. In addition, our front drop off is always open. Thank you for your understanding.

H-E-B Plastic Bag Recycling Challenge! ♻️
Our school is participating in the H-E-B Plastic Bag Recycling Challenge! Students may bring in clean, dry plastic bags and plastic film from home to help with recycling. BAGS CAN BE FROM ANYWHERE, not just HEB.
🏆 The class that collects the most bags will win a glow dance party!
Thank you for supporting our students and helping care for our environment! Turn all bags into our STEM teacher, Mrs. Smith.
The LAST DAY to bring bags is April 3rd 2026!

All food and events are free! 🐴🐴 🐴 Saddle Up! 🐴 You’re invited to Candlewood's 3rd Annual Horse Clinic — a fun, family-friendly event for our Candlewood community and other surrounding JISD schools! 📅 January 10, 2026 ⏰ 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM 📍 Candlewood Recess playground behind the gym Come enjoy a day with live horses and special guests like the Texas Trail Riders, who will be demonstrating horse gear and showcasing different types of rodeo activities involving horses. It’s a great chance to learn, watch, and experience the world of horses up close! 🌭 FREE food (while supplies last): Hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, and a drink 🔥 We’ll also have fire pits and all the ingredients you need to make your own s’mores! Bring the whole family and come enjoy food, fun, and horses with your Candlewood neighbors. We can’t wait to see you there!

🎉 Celebrating Our 2025-2026 Educators of the Year at Candlewood STEM Academy! 🎉 We are so proud to recognize three incredible staff members who go above and beyond for our students and families every single day. 🌟 Teacher of the Year: Ms. Kelly Shelton Ms. Shelton is a phenomenal 3rd grade teacher who truly shines in the classroom. She builds strong, meaningful relationships with her students and creates a learning environment where every child feels supported, valued, and inspired to grow. 🌟 Novice Teacher of the Year: Ms. Rebecca Boissonneault In her first year on our campus, Ms. Boissonneault has already made a tremendous impact. As a 4th grade teacher, she brings enthusiasm, dedication, and a passion for learning that has made her an amazing addition to the Candlewood STEM Academy family. 🌟 Support Staff of the Year: Ms. Maria Martinez Ms. Martinez serves as our Restorative Justice Instructional Aid and is a vital part of our school community. She works closely with students who need time to reset and build self-control, while also welcoming our families with a warm smile in the front office. Her care and compassion make a difference every day. Please join us in congratulating these outstanding educators and thanking them for all they do for our students and school community! 💙✨

Join us for a festive Winter Wonderland event tomorrow, Thursday, December 11th, from 4:30-6:30 PM. 🎄🔔🎁 We will feature performances by our PreK, Kinder, and 1st grade students throughout the event, culminating with a closing performance by our Honor Choir. 🎶 A range of activities will be available, including literacy exercises, arts and crafts, and Bingo. 📚 Refreshments will include sausage wraps, popcorn, nachos, and beverages. 🍿 Additionally, 25-26 t-shirts will be available for purchase.
